The Winds of Change: Embracing Career Transitions

Change is the only constant in life, and when it comes to your career, seizing opportunities for transformation can lead to personal and professional growth beyond measure. If you've been contemplating a career change, now is the perfect time to take the leap. Here are some reasons why.
Shift in Mindset
In the fast-paced world we live in, adaptability is key. Start by embracing the right mindset! You have many skills that you have honed over the years. Now all you have to do is look at them in a transferable way. All skills are transferable in one way or another. Write out all of the skills you have, then pivot the way you speak about them to make them fit where you want to go with your career.
Technological Advancements
We are living with so much technological innovation all around us, which means you're in the epicenter of opportunities. With new industries emerging and existing ones evolving, your expertise can align with these changes, making your transition smoother.
With technology, this also allows for more learning opportunities with online courses (including my Ideal Career Leap Course), and connecting websites like LinkedIn, LinkedIn Learning, Meetup and job boards. Utilize all of these to find a path you want to take, or someone who has already paved the way!
Networking Advantage
Living in the United States provides access to a diverse network of professionals, entrepreneurs, and experts. Leverage these connections to gain insights into different industries, gather advice, and potentially secure informational interviews to explore new career paths.
Everything is constantly changing, including your career! Life is too short to have a career you are not happy with. I know, it seems overwhelming, but let me give you a little tip to get the ball rolling.
Make a list of everything you need to get done (example: update LinkedIn, refresh your resume, make more connections) Take 10 minutes a day and start to chip away at the list. Stick to 1 item until it is "done" (noticed I said "done" and not "perfect"!), then move to the next on the list. You might be thinking “Lauren, 10 minutes a day? The list is going to take forever!” It might take some time, but each day you work on your future career for 10 minutes, you are 10 minutes closer to your end goal than you were before.
Until Next time Empire Builders!
